The holidays are hurrying towards us!!

Only 12 more days til Halloween! Wow, time does fly. Best Bet Design has some really cute Halloween runners, but now it's time to concentrate on Thanksgiving and yes, Christmas!

Here's a sampling of our runners which would look nice on your Thanksgiving table (up to and including dinner time)!

This one is a great example of an Americana print, with it's patchwork look. The other side is full of mums, which will be great any time this fall!

I love the rich depth of colors on this autumn leaves runner.  The colorful fall leaves have a shimmery effect against the black background.

This runner has a whimsical look, with squirrels and acorns! The other side has gold-lined leaves against a shimmery red background. 

All we've got for Christmas right now is this elegant little reversible keyhole print in red & silver. Simple, yet classy! 

We just sold this pretty little runner last week!

Time for me to get to the fabric store and stock up on more Christmas fabric!  It's going to be fun!!

Squirrels!

There is a little joke in my family about how much my husband loves squirrels. It started off when I asked him to trap and relocate the squirrels invading our garden, rather than other methods of removal. He wound up getting (and wearing!) an FBI most wanted list of squirrels, and other squirrel gifts over the years.

So when Anne found this squirrel print fabric, she knew she just had to get it!

There must be other squirrel lovers out there, so now you too can own a squirrel printed table runner. And if you're not into squirrels all the time, it reverses to some seasonal orange oak leaves.

Quick & Easy Fall Table Decor

Switching out your table decor for fall can be quick and easy. Here are two simple options.

Buy a few real or faux mini pumpkins (around $1 each) and combine them with a bowl of treats like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Although it's unlikely any will be left by the time Halloween rolls around, they will serve as functional decor!

Use a bouquet of real or fake sunflowers to decorate your table. I paired mine with one of my favorite candle scents, ginger peach.

Fall Home Decor in the Best Bet Design Shop

As summer cools down into fall, you may find yourself wanting to refresh your home decor to match. We recently stocked the shop with some new fall table runners. Many of them are reversible, so you'll get two autumn looks in one piece.

Farmhouse Flowers: Mums for Fall

The pansies I planted this spring were looking tired and it was time for an upgrade. Nothing says fall like some mums! I chose a big yellow one for the pot by my back door.

I planted a mix of gold and light purple minis for the barrel by the trellis. My spike plant was still going strong so I left it in the barrel, and it looks great! (Notice that purpley-red flower growing on the ground? No idea where that came from, but it's been blooming nicely all summer.)

Mums & Asters Floral Printed Table Runner for Fall

It's still technically summer and Labor Day has yet to come, but when the calendar turns to September we usually start thinking about fall.

This mums and asters printed fabric on a brown background is a great way to transition to the new season. The florals are a nice reminder of summer, but the tones are definitely autumnal hues.

This particular runner is reversible with a subtle floral print on the back.

Happy National Sewing Month!

September is National Sewing Month! What better way to kick off the creation of some new items for fall than a whole month devoted to sewing.

Here are some of the fabrics we'll be playing with this month:

Our best-selling blue ikat fabric already exist in our shop (pillow covers, runners). The other fabrics are brand new for fall and we're really excited to sew with them!
