Pink Peony Pillow Cover

Our 16x16 inch pink and green peony pillow cover has sold out every time we've listed it. It's back in stock because we sewed up the last of our material. When these are gone, they're gone!

This cover features a nice, thick decorator fabric on the front and plain white muslin on the back with an envelope closure.

We also have a little dresser scarf in the works, made from the leftover fabric! That listing will be available soon.

On Trend: Bold Floral Prints for Home Decor

We've been sewing a ton and adding a new item to our shop each day. It's no secret that floral prints tend to be a style we see spring after spring. But Anne recently sewed up some table linens with a bold floral print on a black background. This is a little more interesting than your average dainty floral print!

While these items were created in Florida, and would look great in a Florida home year-round, they'd also look great just about anywhere else this spring and summer!

In past blog entries we've explained how you can use new throw pillow covers to refresh your home decor. Table linens are another economical way to do this. They can make a big impact with little investment!

For a fun twist these linens are actually double sided. They are lined on the back in solid lime green.

Feel free to mix and match place mats with table runners for a more cohesive look. This helps your table look more put together... but is not as formal as a table cloth.

Spring 2015 Target Home Decor Picks

Spring is probably my favorite season for decorating. Flowers, cute animals, the color green... all things I like!

Target is a great place to shop for little pieces. They also bring out fun lines from time to time, like Lily Pulitzer for Target. (Now you can only find them on eBay, and they are not so affordable!)

Here are some more reasonable picks for the season.

Kitchen & Dining

Our family has a lot of birthdays in April and so we tend to have several family meals. Some new plates are always fun.

These Mudhut Marika salad plates (bowls available, too) would be an easy way to mix some new pieces in with your existing dinnerware.

If you want to change up your entire dishware set, I really like these light blue ones for spring.

Bedroom

New bedding is always a great choice. Now that it's warming up, there's no need for 10 blankets on the bed. And a fresh, bright color always feels springy.

I really like these two sets... one is more neutral with some bright aqua, and the other is a bold floral.

Around the House

This mat would look great at the kitchen sink. I'd also like to see it at the door leading to my porch.

I love the blues in this floral pillow. Target also has a pillow in similar tones featuring a bird print.

I love the bold aqua color of this rug. I think it would look great in any size. For some reason I'm envisioning it in my dining room!

Spring Has Sprung... in London!

In London the grass is greening up, trees are budding, and the daffodils are in bloom! It's quite a contrast to the snow and frozen ground in New York.

I'm traveling for work this week and so I won't have time to write blog posts. However, I thought I'd share a few photos of St. James Park.

Easter Farmhouse Home Decor Ideas

Easter is so much fun to decorate for after a long, boring winter. Plus, if you choose the right items, your decor can pass as general "spring" decor without looking too much like Easter!

The way I achieve this is by choosing bunnies over chicks. They seem a little more generic, at least to me! :)  I also mix in lots of flowers. Fake ones are fine with me because I can use them year after year.

Here are some photos of the Easter decor throughout my home.

Two Pier 1 bunnies and vintage daffodils/mason jar (40+ years old!)

I added ribbon to this decoration so it can hang

thrift store Easter wreath ($5)

thrift store bunny ($1) in an Easter basket

Easter print, Pier 1 bunny, and flowers

butterfly tin (leftover wedding decor) with thrifted jar ($2) and ducks ($2)

bunny print and chevron print pillows

lovely potted tulips (40+ years old!)

pretty pansy wreath helps get past the fact there's still snow outside

Christmas Tree Shops are another great place to find decor, but their stock varies, so you should check out your local store to see what they have.

Use Spring Pillows to Refresh Tired Home Decor

Things seem to look a little "blah" as winter winds down. Refreshing your pillows is an easy way to bring a little spring into your home. (Especially if your flowers are still buried under feet of snow, and aren't interested in coming up anytime soon.)

Swapping out your throw pillow covers is an inexpensive way to change up your decor. You can either buy new pillows or find covers to fit over the ones you already have. Nobody needs to know that a snowman pillow is hiding underneath that new bunny cover!

Here are some of our Pinterest picks for spring pillows and pillow covers:
